Nelliyadi is a small town near the eastern coast of the Jaffna district. On 4May 2006, seven young men were on their way to a friend’s party in athree-wheeler. They were in a jolly mood and were carrying alcohol with
them for use in the party. Just before their three-wheeler neared theNelliyadi junction army camp, a grenade was thrown into the camp. Themilitary blindly opened revenge fire, killing all the seven friends.
