Puthukkudiyiruppu (PTK) is the biggest and the busiest town in theMullaithivu district. On 15 and 16 June 2008, Sri
Lankan bombers conducted extensive aerial raidover this town. Four civilians were killed and a
further 10 were injured in the attack on the 15th.School, hospital, temple, market, commerce
buildings and homes were damaged. PTK MVSchool, Zonal Education Office, PTK hospital and
Sri Kanthasamy Murugan temple sustaineddamages. Seven homes were completely damagedand a further 25 homes sustained some damages.
