Nanthini is my eldest daughter. I was extremely fond of her. She used to help her younger sisters with their studies. She took care of them. She had a good name among the school teachers. She was studying in Visuvamadu Mahavidyalayam. She went to attend a leadership workshop with her friends. On 14 August 2006, Monday morning, at about 7.30am the Sri Lankan air forces’ Kfirs attacked the Puthukudiyiruppu. At that time, I didn’t worry about my daughter. But my husband left to find out the situation. It was 12.00 noon; he returned home and said our daughter was also killed by the attack. I
cried loudly. All our neighbours gathered in our home. After a few hours they brought her dead body. She was injured in her chest. We lost our eldest daughter.
